> Colby Covington's Perfect RAF Run: Four Opponents, Four Wins, One Crossover Title

SRC_ TheFightLife Intel READ_ ~2 MIN READ

When Colby Covington beat Arman Tsarukyan 5-3 at RAF 11 to become the first-ever RAF Crossover champion, it read like an upset — Tsarukyan had been undefeated across the promotion’s first ten events and was RAF’s biggest UFC-name draw. It wasn’t really an upset. Covington had spent the previous six months building a perfect record of his own in the same wrestling-only promotion, against increasingly credible opposition.

The Path to RAF 11

RAF 05 (January 10, 2026): Covington opened his RAF account with a tech fall win over Luke Rockhold, 12-0.

RAF 07 (March 28, 2026): Covington beat Dillon Danis by tech fall, 14-4 — the same card where Arman Tsarukyan and Georgio Poullas met in a rematch of their RAF 06 bout (the one that had ended in Tsarukyan punching Poullas after the final whistle).

RAF 09 (May 30, 2026): Covington’s toughest test to that point, edging former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman 5-4 in a tight, closely scored match.

RAF 11 (July 18, 2026): Covington capped the run by beating Tsarukyan himself, 5-3, to claim the inaugural RAF Crossover Title and snap Tsarukyan’s undefeated stretch in the promotion.

Why the Run Matters

Every opponent on Covington’s ledger — Rockhold, Danis, Weidman — is a recognizable UFC name, which is the entire point of RAF’s format: real freestyle wrestling, scored honestly, between fighters the MMA audience already knows. Covington didn’t win his four RAF bouts on name value; the tech-fall finishes against Rockhold and Danis were legitimate lopsided wins on the mat; the Weidman fight was a genuine grind decided by a single point.

Beating Tsarukyan to close the run wasn’t a fluke pairing, either — Covington earned the shot by not losing across four straight appearances first.
