The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization, founded on November 12, 1993. Originally conceived by Art Davie, Rorion Gracie, Bob Meyrowitz, and partners as a single-night tournament to determine the most effective martial art, the promotion evolved into the dominant global MMA league. Dana White became president in 2001 under Zuffa LLC ownership (Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta), transforming the near-bankrupt company into a multi-billion-dollar enterprise. In 2016, Endeavor Group (then WME-IMG) purchased the UFC for approximately $4.025 billion. Following a 2023 merger with WWE, the UFC now operates as a subsidiary of TKO Group Holdings, with Ari Emanuel as CEO of TKO and Dana White serving as UFC president and CEO. The UFC is headquartered at the UFC Performance Institute, 6650 S Torrey Pines Drive, Enterprise, Nevada.
