The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is an American mixed martial arts league founded by venture capitalist Donn Davis in 2017 and launched in 2018, following the acquisition and restructuring of the former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) promotion. PFL is notable for being the first major MMA organization to use a regular-season-and-playoffs format, where fighters earn points across multiple bouts and the top finishers compete in year-end championship bouts for a $1 million prize. John Martin serves as CEO. In November 2023, PFL acquired Bellator MMA, significantly expanding its fighter roster and international event portfolio. The promotion broadcasts on ESPN and is headquartered in the United States.
