Eddie Bravo Invitational (EBI) is a no-gi submission-only grappling promotion founded in 2014 by Eddie Bravo, creator of the 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu system. EBI events feature a distinctive format: matches are decided exclusively by submission, with a structured overtime system (starting from back-take and spider-web positions) used to break draws — no points, no advantages. The format influenced a generation of submission-only promotions and helped define the modern no-gi grappling aesthetic.

EBI gained significant mainstream exposure in 2016 through a partnership with the UFC, streaming events on UFC Fight Pass. The promotion also served as the incubator for Combat Jiu-Jitsu, a grappling variant developed by Bravo that permits open-palm strikes to grounded opponents, which grew into its own event series (the Combat Jiu-Jitsu World Championships). EBI ran 17 main events before going on hiatus after EBI 17 in September 2018. Bravo announced the promotion’s return in 2022, and in 2021 launched Medusa, a female-exclusive event blending EBI and Combat Jiu-Jitsu formats. An EBI Open Tournament was held in El Paso, Texas in June 2024, alongside the new multi-event format Jiu-Jitsu Overdose.
