About

Combate Global (originally Combate Americas) is an American MMA promotion founded in 2011 by Campbell McLaren, who previously co-founded the UFC. The promotion initially debuted as a reality competition series on Mun2 in 2014 and won the Imagen Award for “Best Reality or Variety Series” that year. In March 2021 the organization rebranded from Combate Americas to Combate Global. That same year it secured a five-year broadcasting agreement with Univision for 150 televised events, and Univision Communications acquired an equity stake in the promotion in July 2021. English-language broadcasts were picked up by CBS Sports Network and Paramount+, and in 2024 English programming moved exclusively to Fuse Media.

The promotion focuses on Hispanic and Latin American MMA talent, targeting a millennial demographic — the average viewer age was reported at 27. In 2024 Forbes ranked Combate Global the tenth most valuable combat sports organization in the world, estimating its value at approximately $120 million. The promotion’s events have consistently drawn Spanish-language television audiences that rival or exceed those of other regional MMA organizations.
